Nanaimo Recycling Exchange - Environmental Mind Grind Challenge

Thrifty Foods has proudly supported the Nanaimo Recycling Exchange - Environmental Mind Grind Challenge by providing a barbecue for the winning elementary school class. We also supply items for their goody bags, and a trophy for the winning group. The Environmental Mind Grind event is an academic trivia contest that brings together students from different schools, and promotes responsible environmental stewardship. Teams of students sign up and work with their teacher, learning from specially prepared study packages covering eight different topics including: species, spaces, air quality, transportation demand management, energy conservation, climate change, waste reduction, and water.
