Sendial

Sendial is a grocery shopping and home delivery service for Thrifty Foods customers who have been injured or have some other physical impediment to prevent them from easily accessing or independently shopping in our stores.

Over 600 dedicated and hard-working Sendial volunteers take orders and shop for fresh groceries, which are then delivered by our friendly Thrifty Foods drivers (for a nominal fee) to community members in need. If you know of someone who may benefit from this service, please apply today.

In 2012, the Sendial Program celebrates 25 years of providing this service in our communities, on Vancouver Island, Saltspring and on the Lower Mainland.

Sendial Volunteer Program

Originally created in 1987 by a Thrifty Foods customer named Prue Cunningham, Sendial is now carried out by an amazing group of community-based volunteers who give of their time and their energy to order and shop for fresh food (then bagged and delivered by our friendly Thrifty Foods staff) year round.
