Guava
Ripe Guavas have a tantalizing scent. This fruit tastes of honey, melon and strawberries. Guavas will ripen quickly at room temperature, so select fruit that is still firm to the touch. Guavas should be used as soon as they are ripe or stored no longer than a day in the refrigerator. Although used traditionally for preserves and chutneys, they are excellent when grilled with poultry, pork or fish. Also use for a burst of flavour in salads, sauces or desserts. Use by slicing off the top halve lenghthwise and cut into chunks.
