Passion Fruit (Granadilla)
The inside of a Passion Fruit is filled with tear shaped gelatinous seed sacks. The scent is tropical with intense aromas of jasmine, honey, lemon and floral scents and the taste is sweet tart and lemony. A Passion Fruit is ripe when wrinkled but not cracked. Eat the pulp plain or spooned over ice cream, cakes and other desserts. Passion Fruit also makes delicious jams and jellies. Press to extract the highly fragrant juice and add to beverages like iced tea, punch and cocktails. Store ripe Passion Fruit for up to a week in the refrigerator.
