Red Bananas

The red banana is sweeter than it's yellow cousin with a slight taste of raspberries. Store at room temperature, as you would yellow bananas. It is ready to eat when the purple skin starts to show black patches. Once ripe, they can be stored in the refrigerator. The flesh is pink, creamy and fragrant. If slicing in a dish, you can sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.

A nice change from regular bananas!
