Starfruit
Starfruit is also known as "Carambola." The starfruit has a light refreshing flavour like a combination of plums, apples and grapes with a hint of citrus. The edible skin is thin and slightly waxy. Ripen at room temperature. A ripe starfruit will be golden yellow with slightly brownish tips on the ribs and very fragrant. Starfruit will not discolor making them perfect for slicing horizontally (forming a star shape) into a salad or as a decorative garnish.
