Buck Brand

We find innovative growers, like Lisle Babcock of Terra Bella, California, who hand picks his oranges, and uses a horsehair brush to clean them and let them 'breathe'.

That lets the excess moisture out, and concentrates the juices.

And that's why we carry Lisle's Buck Brand oranges - sweet, juicy, and now available in British Columbia at Thrifty Foods.

Simply Brushed

The fruit under the Buck Brand label is grown in the foothills of the San Joaquin Valley in California. It is packed only when it is fully ripe and ready to eat. The fruit is grown by a group of family farmers and their families, whose livelihood depends on the sale of their fruit.

The fruit is simply brushed with horsehair brushes, drenched with a natural compound, using only the fruit's own natural wax. This produces a fruit that is full of its own natural flavour, like you picked right from the tree, the way it used to taste, before the use of artificial wax and fungicides. The fruit is picked to order and is delivered to your store within days of harvest, not weeks.
