Job Summary
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for operations of the pharmacy department. This will include the training, hiring and managing of pharmacy staff to achieve the highest level of customer and efficient operations. Reporting to the Director, Pharmacy Operations, the Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for achieving financial objectives. The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible to ensure all pharmacy staff adhere to Food safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Corporate Policies, Health and Safety, and other programs and initiatives. The Pharmacy Manager will demonstrate outstanding leadership, superior judgement in decision making, and commitment to the success of the Thrifty Foods Team.
Job Requirements
Specific Responsibilities
-Directly responsible for ensuring the department achieves its Profit & Loss objectives and maximizes sales and margins, including appropriate sales forecasting, variance analysis and correction, and labour cost control.
-Creates and maintains the highest levels of personal and team productivity, enthusiasm, and commitment to outstanding customer service as well as helping employees reach their maximum potential, and preparing employees to assume positions of increasing responsibility.
-Recruits, trains, develops, motivates and coaches employees, conducts performance appraisals, and provides regular feedback, including administering corrective actions as required.
-Leads the implementation of all corporate policies, initiatives, and Standard Operating Procedures and ensures the department and employees comply and use them effectively, including timely and accurate submission of all relevant documentation as required.
-Uses sound judgment and makes timely and appropriate decisions, consistently and without over-reliance on others.
-Demonstrates exceptional product knowledge, including awareness of product changes, promotions, and seasonal trends, including ordering, receiving, organizing, rotating, merchandising and presenting products and stock in accordance with TF standards.
-Demonstrates outstanding leadership, with a clear vision, consistent sense of direction and serves as a role model for department and store employees.
-Keeps abreast of local competitor activity and makes recommendations on internal pricing, promotions and product policies.
-Works as an integral member of the Store and Department Management teams, and supports and assists other team members as required.
-Adopts and maximizes use of technology in all store operations.
-Initiates, supports, participate and leads community and charitable events and activities.
Knowledge & Experience
-Must be a Licensed Pharmacist in a province of Canada, preferably of British Columbia.
-Must be a member in good standing with your current provincial College of Pharmacists.
-Minimum one year experience as staff pharmacist required. Pharmacy manager experience an asset
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Experience in management & leadership an asset.
-Successful completion of Thrifty Foods College Management Program within one year of being hired.
