DIY Peppermint Platter

peppermint platter
Does your Tupperware go MIA at this time of year? Try making this platter to give friends and family cookies or use as a trivet to show off a beautiful dessert.
What you need:
  • approximately 85 peppermint candies
  • springform pan
  • parchment paper

Step 1:

Line a spring-form pan with parchment paper and arrange unwrapped mints in a circular design, keeping as tight as possible. Remember to bring the paper up above the candy so it doesn’t stick to the pan. Bake at 300 F for 5–8 minutes–watch closely. You want the candy to melt, not bubble.

Step 2:

Remove from oven and cool on cooling rack still in the pan for approximately 5 minutes. When hard to the touch, carefully remove from pan and place the peppermint platter onto the rack to cool completely. Do not put in the fridge to cool faster – it will crack!

Tips:

Use dry baked goods on the platter such as cookies or fudge so that the platters peppermint design doesn't smudge.

To strengthen the platter we used clear Mod Podge on the bottom of the platter. Mod Podge is available at most craft stores.
