DIY Candy Cane Vase & Rose Centerpiece

Simple & stylish, this beautiful centrepiece is fun to make and sure to impress even the toughest critics.

What you need:

  • 1 Can of Soup 796ml
  • 3 Boxes of Candy Canes (it takes approx. 37 Canes)
  • Dozen Roses
  • Red Ribbon
  • Glue Gun & Hot Glue Sticks

Step 1:

Empty, wash, remove the label and thoroughly dry a soup can. Keep plastic on canes, but trim ends to remove any excess wrapping. If candy canes are different lengths, cut down with scissors.

Step 2:

Using a glue gun, completely cover the can in candy canes, keeping them as straight and tight as possible.

Step 3:

Wrap ribbon around and glue to candy canes, ensuring the ribbon is level. With a separate piece of ribbon, tie a bow and glue to cover the seams of the wrapped ribbon.

Step 4:

Cut roses to ensure they fit just above the candy canes. Using an elastic gather roses and any greenery to bunch together to create a bouquet.

Step 5:

Add water to the bottom 3" of the candy cane vase and drop rose bouquet in.

Want some additional height for your table? Try a 4" Poinsettia instead of the roses to create an equally gorgeous centrepiece. Glue guns, glue sticks and ribbon are available at most craft stores.
