How to Make Candied Pecans

Sweet snacks perfect as an addition to your baking or for eating on their own!

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place 2 cups pecan halves in a bowl (see Note). Add ¼ cup of icing sugar and 4 tsp. cold water. Toss until nuts are completed coated, adding a drop more water, if needed (see Note).

Step 2:

Transfer nuts to the prepared baking sheet and arrange in a single layer. Bake the nuts 10 to 12 minutes, or until they have a crunchy coating.

Step 3:

Let nuts cool completely on the pan, and then transfer to a tightsealing container. Use the nuts for decorating desserts, such as cakes, pies and brownies, ice cream and other treats.

Note: When tossing the nuts with the icing sugar and water, if desired, you could also add a few pinches of ground spice, such as cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. If desired, walnut halves could also be candied in this manner.
