Method

  1. Spread a thin layer of salt or granulated sugar (if you like things sweet) on a small plate. Moisten the rim of 2 rock or margarita glasses with a lime wedge. Twist and coat the rim of each glass in salt or sugar. Set glasses upright and fill each one 3/4 full with ice.
  2.  Place blueberries in a cocktail shaker and use a cocktail muddler to thoroughly mash them (see Note). Add tequila, liqueur, juices, icing sugar and 1/2 cup ice cubes to shaker, then put on the lid.
  3. Holding the shaker firmly together, vigorously shake it for 20 seconds. Divide and strain the mixture between prepared glasses, making sure you get every last drop. Set a few whole blueberries in each drink, garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

Note: A muddler is long-handled bartender's tool used to mash cocktail ingredients. They are sold at fine kitchenware stores. If you can’t find one, use the top of the handle of a metal whisk to mash the blueberries.
