Set the oven rack 6-inches beneath your oven’s broiler. Preheat the broiler. Brush the chicken with the oil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in a broiler pan or baking tray. Broil 3 to 5 minutes per side, or until just cooked through. While this occurs, place the remaining ingredients, except the almonds, in a small pot and whisk to combine. Bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat to low and keep the sauce warm until the chicken is cooked. Divide the chicken among plates. Spoon over the sauce; sprinkle with almonds and serve.

Note: To toast almonds, bake in a single layer in a 350 degree F oven 10 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
