Make marinade by combining the first eight ingredients in a bowl. Slice the beef into 48 very thin (about 1/8" thick) 3" to 4" long strips, adding them to the bowl as you go along. When done slicing, toss the beef with marinade, cover, refrigerate and marinate 4 hours, or overnight.
Divide and thread 2 slices of meat on the end of each skewer. Preheat barbecue or indoor grill to medium-high. Lightly oil the bars of the grill. Grill the skewers, 2 minutes per side, or until nicely charred.
Arrange on a platter and enjoy.
If desired, serve the skewers with Asian hot chili sauce, sweet chili sauce, spicy mustard or other Asian-style condiment for dipping.
Note: Mirin is a sweet mixture made from rice with wine available in the Asian foods aisle.
