Combine the first 9 ingredients in a small, but tall pot. Bring to a very gentle simmer. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes, until steak sauce mixture lightly thickens and reduces to about 1 1/2 cups. Set a sieve over a bowl. Strain the sauce, using a whisk to push out as much sauce as possible into the bowl. Cool to room temperature, transfer to a tight-sealing glass container, and refrigerate until needed.
Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Lightly oil your grill. Grill the steaks to the desired doneness, allowing 2 to 3 minutes per side for rare to medium rare and 3 to 4 minutes for medium. Plate steaks and serve with the steak sauce.
Recipe Options: Instead of sirloin, try another type of tender steak in this recipe, such as strip loin or rib eye. For a spice-rich steak sauce, add a pinch cayenne pepper, 1/2 tsp. of ground cumin, and 1/2 tsp. chili powder to the sauce when first bringing to a simmer.
