Place the beef in a pot and set over medium heat. Cook until the meat is cooked through and no longer pink. Drain well and place the cooked beef in your slow cooker. Mix in the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on the low setting for 8 hours.

Note: This recipe is designed for an oval-shaped slow cooker with a 5 litre or more capacity. Cans of bean medley (a mix of 4 different types of beans), can be found in the canned bean aisle.

Serving Suggestions

Make a hearty meal of this chili by serving it with tortilla chips for dunking, and toppings you can sprinkle or spoon on to bowls of chili, such as grated Monterey jack or cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro, chopped fresh or canned jalapeño peppers and chopped red onion.
