  • What do I do if I've forgotten my password?

    Click on the "Forgot your password?" link on the Login page.

    Enter your email address and click "Submit".

    You'll receive an email explaining how to re-activate your password.

    Click on the link in the email and follow the directions to create a new password.
  • Can I change my password?

    Yes you can, just follow the steps below:

    Go to the Personal Information/Password section of your Thriftyfoods.com account.

    Enter your current password and click "Change my Password".

    Enter a new password and click "Confirm".

    Save your changes.
  • How do I change my email or address on the website?

    To change your email address, go to the Personal Information section of your profile. 

    You can also change, remove and add an address in the Address Book of this section.

  • What is the "Shopping List" function?

    With this function, you can not only make a Shopping List for your regular grocery trip to the store but you can make Shopping Lists for all sorts of occasions! You can then store these lists in your account, print them for in-store shopping, or transfer them to your shopping cart so you can order the items online.

  • How do I make a Shopping List?

    There are two ways to make a Shopping List:

    1) In the Shopping Lists section of your account, click on "Create a New List". Name your new list and enter products; then click on "Create".

    2) In your detailed grocery cart in the Online Grocery Store, click "Add the Selected Products to a List", or click the list icon appearing below each product. Under "Create a List", name your list and click "Create".
  • How do I add items to my Shopping Lists?

    You can add items to your lists in two ways, depending on which section of the website your are in:

    1) In the Shopping Lists section of your profile, select the list you want, and add a keyword in the "Add a Product" box.

    2) In the Online Grocery Store, click on the "Add to the List" button beneath each item.
  • How do I close my account?

Navigating the Website

  • Can I collect and save the recipes that interest me?

    Yes you can! If you have an account on our website, you can save your favourite recipes in your "Recipe Box". Click the little heart on any recipe preview or "Add to Recipe Box" on any recipe detail page.

    If you would like to remove a recipe from your "Recipe Box" you can simply re-click the red heart or click "Remove from Recipe Box".

  • Can I print my favourite recipes?

    Yes you can! Simply click the print button beneath the recipe photo.

  • How can I access my Recipe Box?

    Log in to your account and click on "Recipe Box" in your profile to see your favourite recipes that you have saved.

  • How do I subscribe to your newsletter(s)?

    Simply type your email address in the field where it says "Newsletter" at the bottom of any page of our website or in the "Signup for our newsletter" box at the top right hand corner of some of the pages. You can also manage your newsletter subscriptions in the "Personal Information" section of your account under "Newsletter Subscriptions" tab.

  • How do I unsubscribe from your newsletter(s)?

    You have two options to unsubscribe:

    1) Click on the "Unsubscribe" link at the very bottom of your Thrifty Foods newsletter, in your email inbox.

    2) Manage your newsletter subscriptions in the "Personal Information" section of your account under "Newsletter Subscriptions" and clicking "I want to unsubscribe from ____ newsletter".

  • Is my Thrifty Foods open on Holidays?

    Thrifty Foods is open every day except for Christmas Day.

  • Where do I find the phone number for my Thrifty Foods store?

    You can find your local store's phone number by searching the store in our Store Locator section.

  • How do I find the Thrifty Foods nearest to me?

    You can use the Store Locator to find the Thrifty Foods closest to you.

  • What services does my Thrifty Foods offer?

    View your store's services by visiting your store's page in our Store Locator.

  • How do I contact Customer Care?

    Please call our Customer Care Team at 250-544-1234 or toll-free at 1-800-667-8280.  

    Our Customer Care Team is available Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm & Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 5pm.

  • What do I do if there is a problem with an item in my order?

    Please contact our Customer Care Team by calling 250-544-1234 or toll-free at 1-800-667-8280; or by filling out the form in the Contact Us section.

  • What is your return policy?

    There are three ways that you can return incorrect items:

    1)
    Call our Customer Care Team at 250-544-1234 or toll-free at 1-800-667-8280 or send us an email at onlineinfo@thriftyfoods.com and we will make arrangements to have your item either refunded or corrected to your satisfaction. Our Customer Care Team is available Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 5pm.

    2) For immediate changes please call your store directly. You can find your Thrifty Foods store number and telephone number on your Order Confirmation Email or by find your store's phone number in the Store Locator section of our website.

    3) Return your item to ANY Thrifty Foods where they will be happy to replace or refund your item.
  • How do I suggest a new product?

  • How do I apply for a job at Thrifty Foods?

    You can apply online in the Careers section, or in person at a Thrifty Foods store near you.

  • How do I know the current balance of my Smile Card?

    Your grocery receipt will show the remaining balance of your Smile Card after each purchase or a cashier can swipe the card and do a balance inquiry. You can also check your card balance by clicking here.

Online Payment & Checkout

  • What are the fees for an online order?

    Order fees depend on whether you pickup your order or have it delivered:

    Pickup Orders have a $4.95 assembly fee
    Delivery Orders have a $4.95 assembly fee + a $3.00 delivery fee ($7.95 total)

    The assembly and delivery fees will appear in the subtotal of your Shopping Cart once you have chosen pickup or delivery.

  • How do I pay for my groceries online?

    You can pay for your groceries online or you can pay when you receive your order.

    For online payment with a credit card, your card will be pre-authorized for the estimated total for your order plus a 25% contingency fee. You may see this as a pending transaction on your credit card. Once your order is assembled and has been processed at the till, only the actual amount of your order will be charged to your card.



    To pay upon delivery you can choose between credit, debit and Thrifty Foods Smile Card.



    To pay upon pickup, you can choose between cash, credit, debit and Thrifty Foods Smile Card.

  • Can I pay with an American credit card?

    Please choose pay upon delivery or pay upon pickup if you have an American credit card and you can pay when you receive your order. We are unable to accept American credit cards for online payment at this time.

  • What payment method is accepted for online orders?

    You can pay for your online order with your credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) or when you receive it.

    For delivery orders we accept credit cards, debit cards or Thrifty Foods Smile Cards. For pickup orders we accept cash, credit cards, debit cards or Thrifty Foods Smile Cards.

    Visa debit cards and Visa gift cards are not accepted when paying online.

  • Where do I enter my credit card number?

    To pay online, complete your order, click on "Pay and Place my Order", and then enter the requested information in the "Optimal Payments" window.

  • When I pay for my order, will the actual total differ from the estimated total?

    Although we strive to offer the same prices online as in our stores, the totals may differ for the following reasons:

    A product substitution has been made and the price differs;

    The article is sold by weight (e.g., produce);

    A selected item was not available;

    An additional in-store discount applies to a given item.

  • Where can I get an AIR MILES Collector Card?

    There are two easy ways to get an AIR MILES Collector Card:

    1) Fill out the enrollment form, available at the courtesy counter of any Thrifty Foods.

    2) Call 1-888-247-6453 or visit airmiles.ca to enroll online.

    It is free and easy - there are no annual fees and no enrollment fees!

    Customers can set their preference to AIR MILES Cash, which can be redeemed in-store against their grocery purchases or AIR MILES Dreams, which can be used towards travel rewards or items in the online catalogue.

  • How do I collect Miles from Thrifty Foods?

    The AIR MILES Reward Program includes: AIR MILES Cash or AIR MILES Dreams (which includes Travel, Entertainment, Electronics, etc.)

    You can earn rewards two ways:

    1. Base offer: $20* = 1 AIR MILES Reward Mile
    2. When you present your card, you'll earn one AIR MILES Reward Mile for every $20* you spend cumulatively from Sunday morning to Saturday night (11:59 pm or at store closing time) in any Thrifty Foods.

    3. Product offers:

      Check the Thrifty Foods flyer every week to find out which products feature AIR MILES offers.

    *Cumulative purchases are calculated before taxes, and exclude tobacco products, lottery tickets, transit fares, gift cards and gift certificates, prepaid phone cards, stamps and postal services, cleaning services, movie and video game rentals and bottle and can deposits.

  • Can I collect Miles when I shop online?

    You can collect AIR MILES when you shop online once you have registered for a Thriftyfoods.com account.

    In order to collect AIR MILES, enter your AIR MILES card number in the Personal Information section before placing your order and all orders from that point forward will credit your AIR MILES account.

    Your AIR MILES Reward Miles will be displayed on the cash register receipt included with your order, whether picked up or delivered.

  • When I order online, where do I enter my AIR MILES Collector Card number?

    Enter your 11-digit AIR MILES number in the Personal Information section of your Thriftyfoods.com account. The system will then save your AIR MILES information for every order going forward.

  • What if I did not receive my Miles?

    Contact our Customer Care Team by calling 250-544-1234 or toll-free at 1-800-667-8280 or by filling out the form in the Contact section.

Ordering Groceries Online

  • How do I place an order?

    Once you have reached the order minimum of $50 excluding taxes and fees, click on the shopping cart "Checkout" button and follow these steps:

    1) If you are already registered, go directly to step 2. If not, you can create an account.

    2) Choose how you would like to receive your order: by delivery or by pick up at the store. If you will receive your order by delivery, enter the delivery address.

    3) Confirm the store that will take care of your order. If you have chosen our Pickup service, you can select an alternate store if required. Delivery stores will be assigned to you based on your postal code. Then choose the time slot for pick up or delivery or your order.

    4) Choose the payment method: online or upon receipt of your order. It is important to verify your order details before placing your order. Your order will not be processed if you do not click on "Pay and Place My Order".
  • Is it possible to place an order ahead of time?

    Yes, you can place next day orders, or depending on our flyer sale dates, up to 7 days before your desired Delivery or Pickup date. Some restrictions apply.*

    *Restrictions apply based on our flyer sale dates. Our flyer sale dates are Wednesday to Tuesday each week. In our Online Grocery Shopping section of our website, our in-flyer sale items for the next flyer sale dates are posted on Monday before the sale period begins on Wednesday. Therefore, the farthest in advance you can order is 7 days in advance if you ordered on a Monday, but if you shop online on a Sunday, the farthest in advance you could place an order would be 2 days out.


  • Can I place an order for someone else?

    Yes, you can order for someone else if you pay online. Simply enter the person's name and address in the delivery address fields, and pay for the order with your credit card

    Please make sure that you enter the address connected to the credit card you use as your billing address.

  • Why do some stores not offer the choice between pickup and delivery?

    The reason is likely because your home or delivery address is located outside of the store's delivery zone.
  • When ordering, can I give instructions on selecting items, such as produce?

    Yes you can! When you review your detailed Shopping Cart ("My Cart"), you can include comments or special instructions for each product, such as for avocados "ready to eat today" or for bananas "slightly green". To access your detailed Shopping Cart from the Online Grocery Store, click on the "View Cart" button in your "Shopping Cart".

  • What if I forgot an item on my order or want to change it?

    Once your order is submitted it will be locked and you will not be able to make the adjustments or changes. 

    Contact our Customer Care Team at 250-544-1234 or toll-free at 1-800-667-8280 and we will do our best to make the adjustment for you before your order is completed.

  • How do I shop Buy 1 Get 1 online?

    When you see a product that says "Free product with purchase", click on that product and see which other products that are included in that offer. To purchase Buy 1 Get 1 products, add multiples of two to your cart. The second item selected will show no charge in your shopping cart. It's that easy!
