Cooking versatile steel cut oats is simple, but does require a bit of patience!
- For 2 servings of oatmeal, place 1/2 cup in a pot with 13/4 cups water, a pat of butter and a pinch of salt.
- Gently simmer until oats are tender, about 20 minutes.
- Spoon into bowls and top as desired, with such things as cream, maple syrup, fruit and nuts.
