How to Make Croutons

If you have leftover bread to use up, make these tasty croutons.

Step 1:

Place 4 cups sturdy bread, cut into small 1/2" cubes, in a bowl. Add 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup loosely-packed, freshly grated Parmesan, 1/2 tsp. dried oregano and 1/3 tsp. garlic powder and toss to combine.

Step 2:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread croutons on the baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes, and then give croutons a stir. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until croutons are golden.

Step 3:

Once cooled, transfer croutons to a tight-sealing jar and store at room temperature until needed for a salad, soup or other use. The croutons will keep at least a week.
