No Bun Burgers
Here are three tasty ways to serve burger patties without the bun!


Salmon Burger in a Grilled Eggplant “Bun”

Cut 1/2″ thick slices of eggplant (2 to 4 for each burger, depending on how wide they are). Brush lightly with olive oil. Grill over medium-high heat for 2 minutes per side, or until nicely coloured and just tender. Sandwich a grilled salmon burger patty between the eggplant, with other ingredients, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and tzatziki.


Burger Salad

For each serving, mound salad greens on a plate. Add a grilled beef or turkey burger patty, topped with a slice of Monterey Jack cheese. Add sliced avocado, cilantro sprigs, corn kernels and black beans, to taste, around the patty. Serve with salsa, sour cream and lime.


Burger in a Lettuce “Bun”

Set a butter lettuce leaf on a plate and top with mayonnaise and sliced tomato. Add a grilled beef burger patty that is topped with cheddar cheese. Top the burger with pickles, mustard, ketchup, onion and another lettuce leaf.
