How to Make Cheese Stuffed Burgers

Cheese Stuffed Burgers
Instead of topping a burger patty with cheese, stuff it inside, creating a hot and inviting molten middle when the meat is cooked.

Step 1

To make four cheese-stuffed patties, you’ll need about 600 grams of ground meat, such as beef, lamb or turkey. Flavour as desired or as per the recipe you are using. Cut four pieces of cheese, approximately 1/2” thick, 3” long and 1-1/2” wide. Feta is shown here, however, cheddar, blue, Gouda or havarti could also be used.

Step 2

To help prevent the meat from sticking, moisten your hands slightly with cold water. Shape the meat into four thin patties that are longer and wider than the cheese slices. Set a piece of cheese down the centre of each patty, gently pressing them into the meat.

Step 3

Pull the edges of the patty up and over the cheese. Press meat together, ensuring that the cheese is completely encased. The patties are now ready to cook. For information on how to do that, check out our Feta-stuffed Beef Patties with Pita and Tzatziki recipe.
