Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Beat the eggs slightly in a bowl; mix in the corn syrup, brown sugar, butter, vanilla and salt. Pour the mixture into the pie shell; top with pecans and cranberries. Bake 10 minutes; and then reduce heat to 350 degrees F. Bake 25 minutes more, or until slightly firm in the centre. Cool on a baking rack to room temperature.
Recipe Options: For plain pecan pie, omit the cranberries and replace with more pecans. Make maple pecan cranberry pie by replacing the corn syrup with maple syrup.
