Cook the beans in rapidly boiling water until just tender, about 2 to 3 minutes. Drain the beans well. Mix in the walnuts, cheese, salt and pepper, spoon into a serving dish, and serve immediately.

Recipe Options: Instead of walnuts, try another nut, such as pecans or toasted sliced almonds. For a milder taste, use crumbled goat cheese instead of blue cheese. For an added touch of colour, use a mix of green beans and wax beans.
