Method

  1. Bring 1 cup water to a simmer in a 9-inch wide skillet. Add the kale and simmer and stir until just tender, about 4 minutes. Drain the kale in a sieve and let cool.
  2. Now place kale and all remaining ingredients, except garnish, in a blender and puree. Pour smoothie into glasses, garnish with a slice of kiwi, if desired, and serve.
