Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausages and brown on all sides, but do cook through. Remove the sausages from the pan and set aside. Drain the fat from the pan. Add the sauerkraut, onion, carrots, potatoes, rosemary, pepper and beer and stir to combine. Set over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Set the sausages on top. Cover and cook 10 to 15 minutes, or until the sausages and vegetables are cooked.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this one pan meal with mustard for dipping the sausages in, slices of rye bread for sandwiching them, and ice-cold beer for washing everything down.
