Place all the ingredients, except the green onions, in your slow cooker. Cover and cook on the low heat setting for 8 hours. Ladle the chili into bowls. Sprinkle with the green onions and serve.

Note: This recipe is designed for an oval-shaped slow cooker with a 5 litre or more capacity.

Serving Suggestions

Fill bowls with things to top the chili with, such as grated jack cheese, sour cream and chopped jalapeño peppers, red onion and cilantro, and then set them on a tray. Set the tray on the table and allow diners to spoon or sprinkle the toppings on their bowls of chili as desired. Also serve a basket of taco chips alongside for dunking into the chili.
