Preheat the oven to 450˚F. Combine the first eight ingredients in a small bowl.
Cut each half crab into two or three leg pieces. Set the crab in a large roasting pan, giant ovenproof skillet or large and sided baking sheet.
Drizzle the spice mixture over the crab. Now get in their with your fingers to toss and evenly – as you can - coat the crab with the spice mixture. After doing so, ensure the crab is sitting in a single layer. Now sprinkle the crab with black pepper and kosher or coarse salt to taste.
Roast the crab in the middle of the oven 15 to 17 minutes, or until cooked through. Garnish the crab with lemon wedges and serve with roasted garlic aioli and/or melted butter for dipping. Set the pan on the dining table and dig in!
Note 1: If you ask, the staff in our Seafood Department will half and clean the live Dungeness crab for you. Cook the crab the day you buy it and keep it refrigerated until you do.
